Once upon a time there was an Iranian rowing team

روزگاري، يك تيم قايقراني ايراني بود.

Iranian team and Japan agreed to do an annual rowing race. Each team should contain 8 men.

تيم ايران و ژاپن براي برگزاري مسابقات ساليانه به توافق رسيدند. هر تيم شامل هشت نفر بود.

Both teams worked really hard to get in the best shape. The day the race started both teams were in similar condition. ....the Japanese won by 1 mile.

هر دو تيم براي رسيدن به بهترين نتيجه بشدت تلاش كرده بودند. در روز مسابقه، هر دو تيم در شرايط مساوي مسابقه را شروع كردند و...

تيم ژاپن با اختلاف يك مايل برنده شد.

The mood in the day the race started both teams were in similar condition. ....the Japanese won by 1 mile.Iranian team was really close to the freeze point. The top management decided to win the race next year. So they established a team of analysts to observe the situation and recommend an appropriate solution.

حال و هواي تيم ايران خيلي سرد و بهت زده بود. مديريت ارشد تصميم گرفت برنده مسابقات سال آينده باشد. به همين دليل يك تيم تحليل گر براي بررسي اوضاع و ارايه راهكار و راه حل مناسب به خدمت گرفت.

After several detailed analysis the team found out that Japanese had 7 rowers and only one captain.

بعد از تحليل هاي مختلف تيم تحليل گر كشف كرد كه ژاپني ها هفت پاروزن و يك كاپتان داشته اند.

Of course the Iranian team had 7 captains but only one rower.

درحاليكه تيم ايران يك پاروزن و هفت كاپتان داشته است.

Facing such critical scenario the management showed an unexpected wisdom: they hired the consulting company to restructure the Iranian team.

با رسيدن به اين نتيجه حياتي مديريت رويكرد حكيمانه ديگري را پيش گرفت:

آنها تيم مشاوري را براي ساختاردهي مجدد تيم ايران به خدمت گرفتند.

After several months the consultants came up with the conclusion that there were too many captains and too few rowers in the Iranian team. A solution was proposed based on this analysis: the structure of the Iranian team has to be changed!

بعد از چند ماه تيم مشاوران به اين نتيجه رسيدند كه تيم ايران داراي كاپتان هاي زياد و پاروزن هاي كم بوده است!

بر اساس اين تحليل يك راه حل نيز ارايه شد. ”ساختار تيم ايران بايد تغيير كند“

As of today there will be only 4 captains in the team led by 2 managers, one top-manager and one rower. Besides that, they suggested to improve the rower’s working environment and to give him higher competencies.

درنتيجه بايد چهار كاپتان توي تيم داشته باشيم كه توسط دو مدير هدايت شوند. ضمنا به يك مدير ارشد و يك پاروزن هم نياز است.همچنين پيشنهاد شد كه محيط كار پاروزن تيم تغيير كرده و به يك محيط رقابتي تبديل شود.

Next year the Japanese won by 2 miles. 2 managers, one top-manager and one rower. Besides that, they suggested to improve the rower’s working environment and to give him higher competencies.

سال بعد ژاپني ها با اختلاف دو مايل برنده شدند!

The Iranian team immediatelly displaced the rower from the team based on his unsatisfactory performance.

تيم ايراني بلافاصله پاروزن تيم را بدليل عدم كفايت و عملكرد نامناسب از كار بركنار كرد.

But the bonus award was paid to the management for the strong motivation the team showed during the preparation phase.

اما به مديريت به خاطر انگيزه هاي زيادي كه در فاز آماده سازي در تيم ايجاد كرد بود پاداش و امتيازات لازم پرداخت شد.

  • The consulting company prepared a new analysis, which showed that the strategy was good, the motivation was O.K. but the used tool has to be improved.

  • شركت مشاور يك تحليل ديگر ارايه كرد كه نشان مي داد:

  • استراتژي اتخاذ شده مناسب بوده

  • انگيزه لازم داده شده

  • اما ابزار مورد استفاده بايد بهبود يابد.

Currently that the strategy was good, the motivation was O.K. but the used tool has to be improved. the Iranian team is designing a new boat.

در حال حاضر تيم ايران در حال طراحي يك قايق جديد است.
