  1. June 9, 2017 Head Down to Quality Camping Stores to Stock Up on Equipment for Your First Outdoor Adventure Going on your first outdoor adventure – whether it be camping, fishing, or watersports – can make you a bit anxious, especially if you have no idea what to bring. Ideally, beginners have a comprehensive To-Bring list so that they don’t forget anything important. If you are preparing for a huge outdoors trip, but your bag is still pretty empty and feeling rather incomplete, here are some helpful tips as to what essentials you should pick up from camping stores. 2. Most people think that their workout clothes will do for their outdoor activity. While you’re free to do that if you wish (and they are valuable mostly because of their quick-dry properties), you must also not forget to factor in the location of your activity. If you’re going hiking through the woods, it’s a good idea to wear something that will have your limbs covered sufficiently to prevent getting cut or scratched by twigs or branches. It’s also a great protection against insect bites, such as from mosquitoes or spiders. Sturdy and comfortable footwear is also crucial, especially if you’ll be walking for long hours. You can wear a good pair of sneakers, but there are boots that are designed specifically for the outdoors. You might want to consider that instead if you’re investing for the long-term. Sunglasses to protect your eyes, waterproof gloves, and a hat or bandana to protect your head from the scorching heat all round up the basic wardrobe necessities. A raincoat may also be necessary if you are expecting to pass through an area that experiences rainshowers. Gear and Equipment First things first, make sure that you have a water container or two. There are plenty of collapsible types out there that make it easy to stow away when not in use. Since you’ll be outdoors, it’s crucial that you bring items with you that will be easy to pack and carry so as to not affect your mobility. Water bottles are unwieldy and take up valuable space in your bag, so they’re not really the most ideal container to bring. Lighting equipment such as headlamps, lanterns, matches and lighters are also important to give you visibility in the nighttime or in dark locations like caves. Sometimes, it also becomes inevitable that you will need to do some night trekking to cover more ground or to get to your campsite. This way, you can easily navigate through the area even without the sun. Don’t forget to pack your medicine and emergency kit as well. You want to be prepared for any eventuality while you are outdoors and away from immediate medical assistance, so do bring first aid materials as well. Shelter Of course, what would camping be without a proper tent and sleeping bag? You may be having an adventure outdoors, but this doesn’t mean you need to completely sacrifice your comfort. When choosing a tent, factor in the location of your adventure. There are specific types of tents Page | 2
