  2. Goals: • Provide a high-level overview of the structure and workflow of ServicePoint • Build up a dictionary of ServicePoint terminology • “If you build it – it will report” • Encourage new ways of thinking about ServicePoint and data entry methodology

  3. Count from 1 to 48…

  4. Now try again…

  5. ServicePoint is like a cell phone? • Would you be able to describe how to make a phone call to your neighbor? • How to send a text? • How to take a photo?

  6. ServicePoint Dictionary Entry Exit ClientPoint Household Service Transaction Assessment Interim Review Null Provider Project Program Universal Data Elements ROI Edit Home Page Dashboard ART Canned Report

  7. How does data flow into reports? Most basic workflow: Create ClientPoint record Create Household Release of Information Entry Service Transactions Interim Reviews Exit

  8. Data changes over time… • Cell phone – update contacts • How does ServicePoint show change over time? • It is important to understand how to report change and where to change it

  9. If you build it – it will report • With this understanding of the flow of data – what other programs could you count an “entry” for? • Is anyone using ServicePoint to track something other than clients who are experiencing homelessness?

  10. Data Entry Methods • Use paper forms – one person assigned to data entry • Enter data directly – all case managers input the data themselves • Hybrid? • Data hubs? • What does your agency do? Have you encountered any challenges? Have you come up with solutions to issues with data entry processes?

  11. Questions? • Hunter Belgard – hunter.belgard@portlandoregon.gov • Jennifer Ross – jennifer.ross@oregon.gov
