Procedure is a way that you expect something to be done. This is done the same way, EVERY time!

Rules vs. Procedures

How to establish rules and procedures l.jpg
How to Establish Rules and Procedures

  • Decide the rules

  • Determine the consequences

  • Discuss with students rules and consequences

  • Word the rule – “We agree…”

  • Post rules and consequences

  • Send parents copy of rules/consequences

  • Be Consistent!!!

Do s and don ts l.jpg

If students don’t…

Announce to student that he/she chose to break a rule, he/she must now face consequence.

Be consistent

Make sure rules are posted!

DON’T SCREAM – IT IS NEVER APPROPRIATE TO SCREAM AT A STUDENT!

Prevention:

Bell to Bell Teaching!

If you give students nothing to do, they will find something to do every time!

DISCIPLINE PROACTIVELY:

Practice fire prevention not fire distinguishing.

Do’s and Don’ts

Make objective Clear

Don’t confuse objective with activity

One to three objectives

Promote activity

60/40 – 60% students telling and doing, 40% teachers
