Paul’s Exhortation to Wisdom and Virtue • Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

  3. “Let Your Mind Dwell” Means “Reckon or Take Into Account” • Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,

  23. We Should be Growing • 2Peter 1:8, 9 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

  24. Application:God’s Word is a Means of Grace • 1Peter 2:2 like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

  25. Application:Coming to God on His Terms Can Make one Pure • Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
