  2. What Is Deferral? • A procedure where a student can ask a college to hold a place for s/he until the following year. This information is specifically for students of St. Mogues College Bawnboy

How Can You Defer a Course? • Before you do anything else read the section on Deferred Entry in the CAO Handbook P. 5. • Check with the Admissions Office of the College, well in advance, if they will allow deferral • All the Addresses, Phone no’s, email are on the inside cover page of the CAO Handbook • Follow the procedure set out in the Handbook This information is specifically for students of St. Mogues College Bawnboy

  4. Steps to be Followed • Write immediately you receive your offer to Admissions, asking for a deferral, • Attach the appropriate part of the offer notice to the letter, • Clearly mark the envelope Deferred Entry. • Do not accept the offer. • Do not write to the CAO • Post our letter at least two working days before the Reply Date shown on the Offer Notice.   5. How do I get my place the following year? • Complete a CAO Application before Feb. 1st of the following year and only put the code for your deferred course under Choices. This information is specifically for students of St. Mogues College Bawnboy

  6. Can I lose my deferred place if the points change? • No. The only way you can lose your place is if you do not re-apply or if, you put more than one course on the CAO form. This information is specifically for students of St. Mogues College Bawnboy
