Facts and figures

  • Three employees of the Center plus six professors and business consultants.

  • The main activities are education and incubation. Intent to include research phase

  • Annual budget approx. 100.000 Euros

  • Established at the University of Tuzla on 2004, by the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency

  • Approx 100 students educated in entrepreneurship and 15 small enterprises established

Review of economic situation in Tuzla Canton, the Role of the University of Tuzla in development of Entrepreneurship and the reasons why this project is necessary to be an integral part of the University itself.

  • Low level of knowledge on entrepreneurship

  • Significant need of students for getting knowledge and skills on entrepreneurship

  • Average interest in starting up their own businesses

  • Business start-up center mainly supports innovative ideas based on academic knowledge, IT technologies, engineering, etc.

  • The registered businesses are mainly located in Tuzla or in the region, not far more then 30 km from Tuzla. One of the businesses is located at the Business Incubator Lipnica. Very locally oriented businesses.

  • Very small enterprises, 1-3 employees.
