    2. ‘For the common good’ Neh 2:18 Context – rebuilding of walls of Jerusalem So they committed themselves to the common good. (NRSV) So they began this good work. (NIV) They strengthened their hands for the good. (literal from Hebrew)

    3. ‘For the common good’ Neh 2:18 Context – needs of Christians in Jerusalem ‘And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.’ 2 Cor 9: 8

    5. Baptist Principle: “... each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer his (Christ’s) laws.”

    8. Home Mission supports mission. ~Ł2m Each year around 400 churches and organisations receive a grant to support mission work in their area.

    9. Home Mission feeds people. Mission Project Grants have helped churches to run luncheon clubs, community cafes, a food bank and helped with evangelistic projects.

    11. Home Mission supports Associations. Ł1.7m 25% of the money given by churches in your Association comes back to support the work of your Association.

    14. Home Mission pays for the ministerial recognition, settlement and support systems. Ł0.18m

    15. Home Mission provides free help and advice for all Baptist Churches.

    16. Some current national priorities: Encouraging women in leadership Inter-faith engagement The Minister’s Pension Fund Creation Care Baptist identity Racial Justice Encouraging young missionary disciples

    18. Our church is a Home Mission Church. Wherever your church meets – if you are part of BUGB then you are a Home Mission Church!

    20. ABC Home Mission involvement: We give Money Home Mission Sundays Attendance at Association and Assembly meetings Stephen and Ruth both mentor NAM’s Prayer People serving on committees and councils What more can we do...?

    21. Home Mission, for the common good, is asking for 5% of your church’s income. That’s how much it costs to support the wider Baptist family, Ł6.3m in 2010
