  5. Proximity Card –Time Attendance Terminal The time and attendance terminal is similar to the access terminal.   6. Proximity Card The proximity cards are part of the contactless card  technologies. Held near an electronic reader for a moment they enable the identification of an encoded number. The reader usually produces a beep or other sound to indicate the card has been read. www.gectrl.com

  7. Proximity Card Reader The university uses photo ID cards that include a built-in reader element. When one of these cards is placed within 2 inches of a proximity card reader, identifying information is read from the card and sent to a controller which will grant or deny access to the area. www.gectrl.com
