Introduction • Constructing well-formed sentences is an important element of writing, but many children struggle with this skill • This summary provides evidence from a small-scale study* of an approach that improved children’s ability to construct sentences • It involved direct practice of sentence-combining along with working collaboratively with classmates *Saddler, B., Asaro, K., & Behforooz, B.
