  1. What is a Root Canal? A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. "Root canal" is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth's nerve lies within the root canal. A tooth's nerve is not vitally important to a tooth's health and function after the tooth has emerged through the gums. Its only function is sensory -- to provide the sensation of hot or cold. The presence or absence of a nerve will not affect the day-to-day functioning of the tooth.

  2. Why Does Tooth Pulp Need to Be Removed? When a tooth's nerve tissue or pulp is damaged, it breaks down and bacteria begin to multiply within the pulp chamber. The bacteria and other decayed debris can cause an infection or abscessed tooth. An abscess is a pus-filled pocket that forms at the end of the roots of the tooth. An abscess occurs when the infection spreads all the way past the ends of the roots of the tooth. In addition to an abscess, an infection in the root canal of a tooth can cause: Swelling that may spread to other areas of the face, neck, or head Bone loss around the tip of the root Drainage problems extending outward from the root. A hole can occur through the side of the tooth with drainage into the gums or through the cheek with drainage into the skin. What Damages a Tooth's Nerve and Pulp in the First Place? A tooth's nerve and pulp can become irritated, inflamed, and infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures on a tooth, and/or large fillings, a crack or chip in the tooth, or trauma to the face. What does a Root Canal Specialist do? Simple fillings of the decayed teeth The fillings include conventional silver fillings, tooth colored composite fillings/glass ionomer fillings, etc.

  3. Root Canal Treatment (Single sitting / Laser RCT) Whenever the decay involves the nerve (pulp) of the tooth RCT is the treatment of choice. Depending on various clinical situations there is conventional / single sitting / Laser assisted RCT and the most advanced micro-endodontics (operating microscope/loupe assisted). Complex restorations: These are tooth saving procedures like Inlays, On lays ( using CAD CAM technology) and restoration of mutilated teeth with post n core build up. At FMS Dental, a team of highly qualified, dedicated root canal specialists perform these procedures. These specialists perform RCT in teeth with complex anatomy like dilacerated (curved) roots, Accessory canals, Failed root canal cases, calcified canals, mutilated teeth etc. ROOT CANAL TREATMENT:- Root canal treatment is the most preferred treatment to retain the natural tooth against conditions like tooth decay, tooth decay leading to pain, fracture or cracks in the tooth. At FMS we focus on providing Root canal treatment to the patient utilizing latest techniques of rotary Endodontics thereby reducing clinical procedure time. 5. our team and accordingly would advise you for a single visit root canal treatment. Is single visit Root Canal Treatment possible in all patients? In clinical conditions with extensive infections single visit Root Canal Treatment is not advised. It is possible in fractured teeth with close pulp (nerve) involvement, for strategically significant teeth while planning an extensive prosthesis/ rehabilitation and teeth with minimal infection. Briefly, in cases of vital pulp, a single-visit treatment can be done whenever possible. This is based on the fact that the pulp is only superficially infected and the root canal is free of bacteria, provided the aseptic chain is maintained during the intra canal procedures. One visit endodontic should be viewed as a procedure that supplements and complements total patient care as it relates to endodontics and not as a technique that is going to totally replace multi-visit procedures.

  6. Best Dental Clinic in Hyderabad Laser root canal treatment FEAR ROOT CANALS? TRY LASER ROOT CANAL THERAPY As any dentist understands, performing dental procedures are necessary to the health, well-being, and comfort of patients, but sometimes these procedures can be unpleasant and even painful. One of the most feared procedures is the root canal. New laser technology promises to change the way patients experience traditional root canal therapy.

  7. Advantages of laser root canal treatment Laser root canal treatment uses a parallel beam of intense light to clean out root canals. Even after cleaning and shaping the canals thoroughly some bacteria can be present in the pours of the canal wall but when laser beam is fired in to the canal, this completely kills the remaining bacteria and makes the canal sterile, which is very important for the success of any root canal treatment. Laser therapy “melts” away debris consisting of bacteria and infection, known as the “smear layer” of the root. With less time and pain than a conventional root canal, laser dentistry can remove infection so that we can get on with our life. POST- RCT PROBLEMS? Post-operative problems of traditional root canals are practically eliminated — the laser reduces the amount of inflammation, swelling and discomfort often felt as the anesthesia wears off. FMS dental hospitals possess Diode lasers in all of its centers to perform laser assisted RCT.
