  2. WHAT IS LAP BAND SURGERY? Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding Surgery is performed to make the stomach smaller and restrict the amount of food the stomach can hold. The surgery involves the implantation of silicone ring around the upper part of the stomach thus leaving only the lower part of the stomach to take food. The smaller stomach helps the person to eat less and feel full.
