KRSTE.my - Knowledge Resource for Science and Technology Excellence, Malaysia • It is an information system structure and strategic mechanism for collaboration, knowledge management, learning and sharing of information • A knowledge system that would map local and global scientific, technological and innovation information resourcesin unique an novel ways

MALAYSIA’S SPAF INITIATIVE • Single-Point Access Facility (SPAF) - MOSTI, IHL and GRI collaborative initiative to make available local S&T and R&D information from various institutions through “single interface application” that leverages on technology platform and capabilities of KRSTE.my system. • Addresses problems in obtaining output of R&D conducted by various institutions, research organizations and individuals due the absence of central agency to facilitate and manage such information

KRSTE.my Demonstration –Knowledge Chest • The Knowledge Chest Knowledge Service of KRSTE.my is targeted for researchers wanting to personalize content specific to their area of interest. • This feature utilizes WRSP or “web-clipping” technology. • This technology enables users to select and specify the content that they want, the way they want it organized into a personalized SPAF. • The content used to populate this ‘personal e-Zine’ are sourced from MOSTI, GRIs and IHLs.

  28. Malaysia • ISSUES WITH USING GSA • Not in favour of crawler to access password protected database • The Federated Distributed System Structure limits crawler access to federation members databases (beyond our control)
