  1. Disney Vacation Club Prices for 2021

  2. Disney Vacation Club 2021 Prices We hear from prospective DVC members daily who are wondering if it’s better for them to buy Disney Vacation Club through resale, or direct through Disney. To help answer these questions, we’ve created a table comparing dvc direct prices 2021 prices to resale costs. Spoiler alert…you save between 33% and 54% when buying DVC resale.

  3. As this is being written on February 3rd, DVC’s Riviera & Aulani will soon see price increases on February 6th, right on the heels of some price increases at a handful of the sold-out resorts, making DVC resale more attractive to most buyers. Disney Vacation Club isn’t letting a global pandemic slow down their pricing strategy and is celebrating the new year with their typical annual price increases. DVC has announced that both Aulani and Riviera will see a $6 per point increase from $195 to $201, effective February 6, 2021. Several sold-out resorts have been priced over $200 per point for quite some time, however this is a high-point for resorts that Disney is actively marketing.

  4. Five of the sold-out resorts already saw a price increase last month, with Grand Californian approaching the $300 per point mark. The other DVC resorts that have seen an increase in January 2021 are Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, and Polynesian.

  5. $300 per point was once unheard of, however with Disney’s hotel costs continually on the rise and outpacing inflation, even at $300 per point, Grand Californian remains a benefit to members, economically. Buying direct, you save up to 50% off your annual Disney vacations. These savings are multiplied when you buy resale, since you’re saving an additional 33% to 54% off your DVC membership. WHAT’S BEST FOR ME AND MY FAMILY? DVC RESALE OR DIRECT?

  6. Although there are a few restrictions when you buy resale, the huge savings offset these restrictions. For example, if you’re saving $15,000 when buying resale, you would have had to buy 50 annual passes with your direct DVC discount to equal the same savings.

  7. With so many of the direct membership extras, such as Moonlight Magic and even Annual Passes, still discontinued, it’s remaining more and more difficult to justify the direct Disney prices. Buying DVC resale just makes more financial sense. Disney has increased the minimum number of direct DVC points you must purchase to receive the “membership extras” to 125 points. If these benefits are still important to you after considering the cost vs benefits, we recommend making your resale purchase first, then buying 125 points direct through Disney. The reason for this is that DVC will match your use year if you already own a resale contract. If you don’t need 125 points though, resale is your best option since it saves you 50% and you wouldn’t receive the benefits anyway.
