  2. RHS Chelsea Flower Show – 23-27 May 2017 Fancy trying something new in 2017? Why not attend one of many flower shows around the UK? One of the biggest societies is the Royal Horticultural Society who organise inspirational flower shows at a range of locations including Chelsea, Hampton Court Palace and Tatton Park. As well as providing some fantastic shows for garden lovers to attend, the RHS also own four gardens themselves, Wisley in Surrey, Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex and Rosemoor in Devon. Now you know the facts about this amazing society, lets discuss some of the shows they host that you can attend in 2017. The Chelsea Flower Show is based at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London. At this very popular event you can find garden designers, plant specialists and florists amongst having the chance to walk through a range of show-stopping, award- winning gardens that feature stunning flowers and plants for you to look at and embrace. As well as seeing the fantastic views they also hold a great competition for the best garden. James Basson is hoping for his third consecutive RHS gold medal with his “The M&G Garden 2017” in the show’s headline sponsor. RHS Early Spring Plant Fair – 14-15 February 2017 RHS Chatsworth Flower Show – 12-13 June 2017 Taking place at the stunning and historical Chatsworth house is the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. This show is a show that you don’t want to miss out on, with impressive displays including a representation of Joseph Paxton’s magnificent Great Conservatory which forms the central piece of the floral marquee at the Chatsworth Flower Show. The fantastic talent doesn’t stop there, as you walk around the gardens you can find jaw dropping mini plant worlds that are themed around popular topics and can discuss top tips and ideas from knowledgeable growers. Held in London is the first show of the year by the Royal Horticultural Society is the Early Spring Plant Fair. There is a very small entry charge of £5, however, it is worth it once you see the stunning array of colours amongst the gardens. Last year’s show saw a range of unusual plants and seeds that were available for purchase, so if you do attend this year then be sure to look out for some funky buys. RHS Harvest Festival Show – 3-4 October 2017 Although October might seem a long way away, it is never too early to purchase your tickets to the RHS Harvest Festival Show, whether you are a regular attendee or it is going to be your first time, you are sure to be amazed. The show is held in the RHS Lindley Hall in London, and comes with a small entry fee that then goes towards helping to pay for RHS apprentices to start their career within horticulture. During the show you can take part in pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and taste some of the most delicious cocktails.
