  1. ABA Therapy Providers for Autism in New Jersey Connect Plus is an organization dealing with Behavior Services in New Jersey for autistic children. The organization uses Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA therapy for treating autism. This therapy relies on behavioral theories to bring about desired behavioral changes in an autistic child and eliminate undesirable behavioral traits. Reinforcing positive behavior and improving social, motor, communication and academic skills are the major benefits of ABA therapy. Connect Plus adopts the following modus operandi to provide ABATherapy for Autism in New Jersey. Assessment of the child The autistic child is comprehensively assessed for social skills, behavioral skills, adaptive skills and other areas. Communication is also set up with other professionals treating the autistic child. There is a whole team including clinical supervisor, clinical director, BT/RBT staff, etc. which works as a team on all the cases handled by Connect Plus. The child is assessed usually within two weeks of enlisting with the organization for ABA therapy.

  2. Treatment method The therapy usually starts within 4 weeks after completion of the assessment. ABA specialists undertake regular one-on-one sessions with the child to impart new skills. All kinds of new skills are taught to the child using various proven methods. Behavior plan drawn up as per the needs of the child is used to reinforce positive behavior and reduce negative behavior. Social skill training is provided using Cognitive Behavior Therapy also called Power-Solving. Therapy based on play in natural environment is also provided to the child. This is known as Natural Environment Teaching. Early Start Denver Model is implemented to boost the cognitive, language and social skills of the autistic child. A pre-vocational instruction useful for the child is also provided by the therapists. Living skills training to lead a normal daily life form an important part of ABA therapy. Feeding program trains the child to eat a variety of food items in different amounts properly. Toilet training is also provided to help the child remain clean, hygienic and healthy. Sleep training aims to improve the child’s quality of sleep.

  3. Parents and family service Connect Plus Therapy also trains parents and family members to complement the efforts of the therapists. Support center for educating the parents regarding their role in ABA therapy for their children is also available. Webinars to educate parents are also created by Connect Plus. Qualification of the therapists ABA Therapy can only be provided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts. In order to become a BCBA, one needs to hold a master’s degree or PhD in psychology or behavior analysis, clear a national certification examination and may need a state license in some states. The Behavior Analysts working for Connect Plus are certified by Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Registered Behavior Technicians also assist in the therapy.
