  1. Junipers

  2. What Are Junipers? Junipers are among the most widely used plants in gardens, parks, and commercial landscaping. They are available in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes and can be used in almost any situation.

  3. JUNIPER ATTRIBUTES Junipers can be columnar or pyramidal trees, low-growing shrubs, or flat, ground-hugging mats, depending on the species and variety. Additionally, cultivars have been chosen for their eye-catching hues of green, blue-green, blue, or yellow-gold. For any landscaping project, junipers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and hues.

  4. SELECTING THE RIGHT JUNIPER Junipers are renowned for being hardy trees that thrive in USDA hardiness zones 3–4 through 8–9. Find out which hardiness zone you are in and contrast it with the zones that are described in the descriptions.

  5. Consider the desired juniper shape as well, whether it be an upright tree, a shrub, or a groundcover. And consider the colors you want to incorporate into your garden. Let's have a look at care techniques for Juniper.

  6. Soil Although junipers can tolerate most soil types, they prefer slightly acidic, organically rich, and well-drained soil because their roots can rot in standing water.

  7. Watering When junipers are established, they typically don't require additional water. They are more susceptible to diseases brought on by overwatering than by underwatering. Until the roots have grown sufficiently, water newly planted specimens every week or two. Keep plants moist during periods of extreme heat and drought.

  8. Deer resistance The fact that junipers have sharp needles and a bitter taste makes deer stay away from them for the most part, but in extreme cases, deer may graze on plants they wouldn't normally.
