  1. Proposed Compressed Work Week House Bill 6152: Will it Affect the BPO Industry?

  2. House Bill 6152 Under House Bill 6152, companies are allowed to avail of the compressed work week scheme of 4 work days or 5 work days for 10 hours daily or 12 hours daily.

  3. Flexible Working Hours Baguio City Representative Mark Go claims that working 40 or 48 hours weekly will allow employers and employees to enjoy flexibility in fixing working hours which is compatible with business requirements to balance employees’ work and family life.

  4. Labor Code Articles 83, 87 and 91 of the Labor Code were amended by HB 6152 to promote business, productivity, competitiveness, and work efficiency with boost on overtime pay.

  5. Complaints Complaints were voiced by the opposition as it will only lead to more contractualization. But, Camarines Sure Representative LRay Villafuerte defended that it will provide healthier benefits to employees as their exposure to too much traffic and pollution will be reduced.

  6. Penalties Companies that will not adhere to HB 6152 will not be penalized since this bill is only optional. But those companies that will implement it need to secure a clearance from DOLE.

  7. 10 Hours:4 Days 10 hours and 4 working days are perfect for those who want to enjoy more rest days, 3-15 minute paid breaks, and 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

  8. More Rest Days & Overtime Pays! The option of (2 work days, 1 rest day, 2 work days, and 2 rest days) provides more overtime pays which include incentives.
