  1. Breathers

  2. Breathers are a key component to all contamination control programs and in some cases is the major component. It has been determined that the cost of excluding 1 gram of dirt is only about 10% of what it will cost you once it gets into your oil. What are Breathers?

  3. Bulk Tank Breathers Bulk lubricant and diesel storage tanks are often located in inhospitable areas with heat, dust, humidity and rain all acting to contaminate the stored product. Storage tanks should take into consideration the effective removal of airborne contaminants and moisture to maximise both fluid and component life. Types of Breathers

  4. Des-Case desiccant breathers protect against the tiniest particulates that destroy machinery. The desiccant beads absorb harmful moisture to ensure equipment is kept dry and running to its optimum level. Desiccant Breathers

  5. Gearbox Breathers They can experience extremes of dust from the process or environment and moisture from wash downs or the atmosphere. In many cases a gearbox breather is the only contamination control device used, particularly with non-circulating gearboxes.

  6. Reservoir Breathers All oil reservoir systems require a breather, whether hydraulic or lubrication. The use of a 3 micron air breather will extend the life of the system filter and assist to reduce contamination induced wear. A correctly sized and applied reservoir breather will remove the unwanted environmental contaminantsincluding dirt, humidity or free moisture.

  7. Water Repellent Breathers Free or atomised atmospheric water due to rain, equipment wash downs or water sprays require the use of hydrophobic breathers. Desiccant breathers used in this application are NOT suitable and along with most standard breather elements, will be clogged and ineffective if wetted out.
