3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Bhartiya Skill Development University is in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was set up in 2017. The State Government of Rajasthan has recognized it under Act 3 of 2017. Above all, UGC has also recognized it under 2(f) 1956. In fact, it is the first-ever University in India that offers skill-based courses. Moreover, the National Skill Qualification Framework and Sector Skills Council, National Occupational Standards, etc, has also approved its courses. Bhartiya Skill Development offers bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs in different vocational streams. For instance, there are streams like Construction, Hospitality & Management, General Education, Office Administration, Healthcare, Woodwork, Entrepreneurship, Automation, etc. Moreover, it has 100+ professors. Additionally, its teaching program has divided its curriculum on the ratio of 60:40; sixty percent of it focuses on skills, and 40 percent focuses on academics.

5. HISTORY To understand the journey of Bhartiya Skill Development University, one needs to understand the journey of Dr. Rajendra Kumar Joshi. He was born in Rajasthan. After completing his Masters of Pharmacy, he went to Slovakia to pursue a Ph.D. later, he went to Switzerland and worked as an Associate Professor. Above all, there, he was the founding partner of a pharmaceutical company. He and his wife Ursula realized that the Indian economy needed the Swiss technique of the Dual System. In other words, the Swiss Dual system refers to the way of learning theory and practicing the same thing in the job. In fact, according to them, it was the best way to make the youth skillful. So, they created ‘Rajendra and Ursula Joshi Foundation’ in 2006 in Switzerland. Afterward, they tried to bring it to India. Hence, they set up the Modern Institute in Jaipur. Additionally, they set the campus up. In fact, CM Mrs. Vasundhara Raje inaugurated it. Finally, the Government of Rajasthan has approved the establishment of Bhartiya Skill Development University.
