  2. Pathology • Pathology is the study of the causes and effects of an injury or disease. When used in the context of medical treatment, the term refers to processes and tests that fall under general pathology. • General Pathology is about analyzing known clinical abnormalities that are both infectious and non-infectious that are conducted by experts. • As a field of general inquiry and research, pathology addresses four components of disease: cause, mechanisms of development structural alterations of cells and the consequences of changes.

  3. Types of PAthology • Pulmonary Pathology deals with diagnosis of lungs disease and thoraric pleura. These tests can be conducted to diagnose between infections, inflammation or fibrotic conditions. • Renal Pathology deals with diagnosis of kidney disease. Renal Pathologists work closely with nephrologists and transplant surgeons who obtain diagnostic specimens via renal biopsy. • Surgical Pathology is the area which deals with the microscopic examination of surgical specimens and biopsies submitted by the surgeons.

  4. Why Calcutta Heart Research centre? • Calcutta Heart Research Centre was established in1993 with an objective to provide affordable healthcare facilities to the citizens of Kolkata and Bangladesh. Our services are not just limited to diagnostic services like ECG, CT scan and MRI Scan. We also offer home collection services such as blood and urine sample collection from the patient’s residence when the patients themselves cannot visit our centre. • Health is always our priority. Hence we came up with an idea of conducting master health checkups which include examination of chest, cholesterol, kidneys, stomach and the liver.
