  1. Company Profile

  2. 01.What does KUSUM scheme stand for? KUSUM stands for KishanUrjaSurakshaevamUthhanMahaabhiyan. As the words used for this scheme is in Hindi. The English meaning of this scheme is the “Protection of Farmer’s Energy and Development campaign”. 02.What is the main objective of KUSUM scheme? The main objective of KUSUM scheme is to provide energy and water security to the farmers of India.

  3. 03.What are the main features of KUSUM scheme? The main features of KUSUM scheme? • 17.5 lakh solar powered water pumps will be distributed by the Government. • 10,000 MW solar plants will be built on barren lands by individual farmers/FPO. • If farmers produce excess electricity, they will be able to earn extra income by selling the energy to the state electricity  DISCOMs(Distribution Companies). • 60 percent subsidy will be offered to the farmers by the Government. • This scheme is likely to reduce the amount of CO2 by decreasing the usage of diesel.

  4. 04.What are the benefits of solar water pumps? • The main benefits of Solar Water Pumps are as following. • Extremely low operating cost: • The main advantage of a solar water pump is that it uses sunlight with no cost at all. As a solar water pump minimizes the dependence on electricity or diesel, once installed, there is no recurring cost of electricity or fuel. • Comparatively low maintenance: • As compared to conventional water pumps, solar water pumps require very low maintenance. Solar water pumps have less moving parts than other water pumps so the chances of deterioration are very few. • Simple and highly reliable: • As there is a reduced dependence on electricity and fuel, issues like power cuts, low voltage and single-phase problems do not affect the functioning of solar water pumps at all. In remote areas with erratic electric supply, these pumps turn out to be much more reliable than traditional electric pumps.

  5. Eco-friendly:   Other water pumps (diesel or propane based) create noise and air pollution, whereas the solar water pumps are environment-friendly as they do not require any fuel to operate. As these solar water pumps are powered by the traditional source of energy, they do not release any harmful substances that can cause serious issues like Global warming. Economically beneficial: Solar water pumps can be blessings for Indian farmers. For farmers, Solar water pumps can be an alternative source of income. Apart from using it for water irrigation, farmers can sell the surplus energy to the grid. Also, the government of India has announced a subsidy on solar pumps for farmers.

  6. 05. What are the types of Solar rooftop? • There are mainly three types of Solar rooftop; • Stand-alone solar rooftops: These kinds of rooftops are not dependent on the grid, they function with a diesel generator or batteries. • Grid-tied solar rooftops: These rooftops work with grid only. It means PV combines with the grid. • Hybrid rooftops:This type has benefits of both Standalone and Grid-tied. 06. What are the raw materials used in Solar panels? The raw materials used to make solar panels are; silicon, sand, ingots and silicon cells. Silicon cells are attached together that forms a structure that is called solar panels.

  7. 07. What is the cost of a solar rooftop system? The cost of a solar rooftop system completely depends on the size, type, location and the quality of the product. The cost of 1KWP solar rooftop PV project could be Rs.48,000 approximately and that is including installation. However, this cost is excluding the cost of storage batteries. 08. What is Net Metering? Net metering is a billing mechanism that offers credit to solar rooftop users who are generating excess electricity at their residences or businesses. So when the building is net-metered, the user will only pay for the “net” energy used every month. And this “net” energy is the difference between the generated electricity and the consumed electricity over the period of one billing cycle.

  8. 09.What are the advantages of Solar rooftops? • Here are the main advantages of Solar rooftops: • Money Saving: Using Net metering, the user can get credit by selling the excess electricity to the grid system when the generation of energy is more than the consumption.   • Low Maintenance Cost: The most amazing advantages of Solar rooftop is endurance. As these solar rooftops are designed to be out-door, they can go quite a long time without any maintenance. • Eco-friendly: While generating energy, the rooftop solar panels do not release any kind of harmful greenhouse gases. • Subsidy: The Central Government offers a Capital subsidy at the rate of up to 30% of maximum Benchmark cost. The Government of Gujarat offers a subsidy of Rs.10,000 per kW of installed capacity up to a maximum of Rs.20,000 per customer. • Reduced dependency on electricity: As solar rooftops have solar panels that only use sunlight from the sun to generate electricity,  you don’t have to be dependent on electricity from the utility providers. As you have now the power of solar, the power cuts do not affect. And if your solar rooftops have the battery backups, then power cuts do not affect you even at night.

  9. 10.Is there any subsidy provided by the Indian Government to solar rooftop users? There is a subsidy offered by both the Central and the State Government for the Solar rooftop users. The Government of Gujarat offers a subsidy of Rs.10,000 per kW of installed capacity up to a maximum of Rs.20,000 per customer. 11.What is Accelerated Depreciation? It can be defined as a fast rate of depreciation of the fixed assets in the earlier years of assets. It actually allows greater deductions in the early years. Whereas in the traditional method of depreciation called straight-line depreciation, the depreciation will be the same during the early years of assets.

  10. 12. What is the current rate of Accelerated Depreciation? The current rate of acceleration is 40% that can be claimed in one year.
