  1. 5 Essential Warm Up Exercises For Cyclists Cycling is a great exercise and impacts the muscle of the whole body. But if you start pushing yourself as soon as you hit the pedals of your Giant bikes, the ride becomes cumbersome before you even start to enjoy it. That is why many professional cyclists and trainers recommend warming up the body before you get on the seat and hit the streets. Warming up activates your muscles and increases their endurance levels to the extent of making your ride feel effortless and enjoyable. It also helps in avoiding sudden injuries like muscle tearing or tissue damage from happening. Add these few warm-up exercises in your repertoire to make bike rides fun and impactful. Stretches Stretches The best way to begin any workout is by stretching out your body. Stretching prepares your muscles and joints for the movement that is to come. Ideally, it is better to perform dynamic stretches rather than static ones. Dynamic stretches involve movement compared to static ones that only require you to hold a certain pose. Some great stretches that you can perform before your ride include leg swings, dynamic lunges, shoulder reach etc.

  2. Ride Slow Ride Slow Once you are done with the stretches you are ready to get on that bike. But the warm-up isn’t over just yet. So, you need to keep things a little slow at the start of your ride. Ride easy for at least 15 to 20 minutes and let your body gradually prepare and warm up for what is to come. Visualize Visualize While you are warming up yourself with a slow ride, enjoy the surrounding scenery. It helps to relax your mind and change your mental state. Pay attention to the feelings your body is reflecting like has it opened up enough to increase the pace or does it still feel tangled? Monitor the Stats Monitor the Stats If you are a cycling enthusiast and indulge in the act regularly with your Giant bikes, then you definitely have a few gadgets to monitor and record your stats. Take out one of those gadgets and check your heart rate and compare your power history. This will help you decide if your body is ready to push harder. If you do not have any such gadgets you probably do own a smart-phone. Get a relevant fitness app and use that instead. Also, many smart-phones now come with a heart rate monitor built into the hardware. It more or less works the same and should suffice as an alternative. Increase the Pace Increase the Pace Finally, if everything seems fine and you feel ready, it is time to increase the pace. If you planned an intense ride for yourself or wanted to push the envelope a little further than usual, your body is definitely ready to respond. As you pedal harder, you’ll feel your body open up and naturally accept the intense movement with ease. Remember to keep your warm-ups limited to a minimum time period. Overdoing them can tire you out before the actual ride and waste all your efforts. Happy Riding Giant Bicycles!
