  1. Cleaning your piano is important for its overall maintenance, but some crucial things should be taken care of. Avoid using heavy chemical compounds as they may damage the outer layer of your keys. It’s highly advisable to use mild soaps.

  2. The average string of piano has about 160 pounds of tension. For improving overall health of your piano it is important to maintain consistent tension in different part of your piano strings.

  3. The piano is largely made of wood which makes it vulnerable to humidity. A humidity level between 30-50 percent is recommended for a room with a piano. It is one of the major things that can keep your piano in tune for a longer time.

  4. Most pianos have wheels but they are not designed for frequent moving. Remember that the piano has 230 strings and is under a lot of pressure, so any jostling can cause it to go out of tune at the very least, and can sometimes cause more significant damage.
