  1. Unit Plan Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration (Chapter 4)

  2. The Basics • Subject:Biology • Grade: 10-11th grade • Unit Name: Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration (Chapter 4) • Time Period: 2 weeks • Unit Goals: • Chapter 4 • Section 4.1- To explain to students how energy is stored and released during the ATP cycle. Contrasting the ways autotrophs and heterotrophs obtain food. • Section 4.2-Identifying the substances and structures involved in photosynthesis. • Section 4.3- To explain to students how cellular respiration releases energy from food. Comparison of aerobic and anaerobic respiration. • Section 4.4- Summarize the flow of food and energy in the biosphere, and inferring the importance of photosynthesis and cellular respiration for living things. • Standards Connection • The long range goal for the year is the adherence to the California standards that pertain to Cell Biology and Ecology Standards: 1f, 1g, 1i, 6d, 6e, 6f • Student Characteristics: Computer Lab, Computer Projector, Internet connection, Supplies for Laboratory experiment (Refer to Lab procedure and Daily Procedures section)
