  1. Acupuncture for Neck Pain There are quite a few conditions that can lead to neck pain. For most people, they are related to the muscles. When the muscles create discomfort, they can be very easily corrected, often only taking one or two treatments. I do not believe anyone needs to have 30 separate sessions of “adjustment” for “out-of-alignment” of their neck. In my experience, a muscular type of neck pain simply takes one or two treatments to correct. Below is a list of signs and symptoms that may correspond to neck pain. Rate how severe your neck pain is using a self-assessment based on the symptoms listed. If you have any of these symptoms, you can consider making an appointment with your doctor. History of degenerative changes of your cervical vertebrae or intervertebral disc. Prior or recent diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Recent trauma (i.e. Automobile accident, whip-lash, sprain, slips, falls, etc.) Pain radiating to one side of your ear or eye – most likely signifies a condition called Lesser Occipital Neuralgia. Pain radiating to your upper shoulder, deltoid muscle, upper arm, forearm, or hands – most likely signifies a more serious condition called Cervical Syndrome (this means that the degenerative change has affected the cervical spinal nerve from C4 down). Pain in the upper top area of the neck, without affecting the shoulder, arm, or hand – in this case, you are most likely to have a higher level degenerative change in the C2, C3 segments.

  2. Here are some of the signs and symptoms that usually indicate that the pain is likely due to nerve impairment: Coldness or pallor in the affected area, numbness, tingling sensation, loss of body hair, areas of localized skin seems to be thinner than usual, and loss of muscle mass in the affected area.

  3. Using our unique Tension Point Therapy, we treat these muscular disorders and pain much more effectively: Neck and back pain: Tension headache, sprained sternocleidomastoideus SCM, trapezius and or levator scapulae, cervical-brachial syndrome, scalenus syndrome (scalene anterior muscle), rhomboid and latissimus dorsi. Limited range of motion in Shoulder or Frozen Shoulder can be caused by strained: Bicep short head/long head or triceps, Supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres muscle, subscapularis. Scapulohumeral per arthritis or sub acromial bursitis. Serratus anterior and pectoralis major injury. Elbow and forearm pain can be caused by: Lateral humeral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial humeral epicondylitis (enthesopathy), olecranon bursitis, and over-compensate brachioradialis. Wrist and hands: Wrist sprain, tenosynovitis of hand or wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome, and strain metacarpalphalangel joint, arthralgia with stiffness and swelling in joint. Lower back, lumbar ad pelvis area: Lumbar sprain and strain including sacroillitis, sacrum strain, 3rd lumbar vertebra syndrome, sciatic pain, piriformis syndrome, stiffness of spine, herniated disc. Pain in abdomen and hip: Dysmenorrheal, groin pain, iliacus and Sartorius strain. Gluteus maximus strain, tension in fascia and gluteus medius. Periformis syndrome and superior clunial nerve irritation. Pain in thigh: Vastus medialis adductor injury, quadriceps femoris and or hamstring injuries, stiffness in tensor fascia late. Knee pain: Collateral ligament injury or bursitis, semimembranosus bursitis, patella femur pain syndrome, meniscus injury, IT Band friction syndrome, infrapatella pain, pes anserinus tendonitis or bursitis, Baker’s cyst, patella pain (theater syndrome), osteoarthritis pain. Leg and foot pain: Tibialis anterior muscle lock and pain, triceps muscle in calf, sprain ankle, pain in lateral side of leg (fibularis longus muscle strain), tarsal tunnel syndrome, metatarsophalangeal joint strain syndrome, painful heels causing by calcaneal spur, Achilles bursitis, plantar fascitis.
