  2. Step 1 Choose a theme from The Hunger Games: • Desensitization of Humanity • Courage in the face of insurmountable odds • Rebellion through Civil Disobedience • Female empowerment • The immorality of Hegemony

  3. Step 2 Vertically, write the theme down the center of your white paper.

  4. Step 3 Compose your poem. You may either begin each line of poetry with one of the theme’s letters or you may wrap your lines across the letters as in my example:

  5. I have a Chance In this wOrld of their making. For YOU are the Reason I will fight And push my soul through the carnaGe that awaits. SwEet Sister, In the face of insurmountable Obstacles, I holD to you AnD I will kill for you And I will Survive.
