Transitioning for success

Slide2 l.jpg

Rothsay is committed to providing premium environmental services to conserve resources and reduce waste. As such, we perform a very important environmental role in our community, the importance of which cannot be overstated. By collecting recyclable material from butcher shops, restaurants, supermarkets, packing houses and farms, we recycle 750,000,000 kgs per year of meat scraps and cooking oils in the Regions that we service in Canada – to put that in perspective, it amounts to 37500 tractor trailer loads per year.

Process raw material that they pick-up from others

Who are the Renderers

Two basic types:

Where do we fit?

More “Street” than “In House”,

approximately 25% of our raw material supply and our finished goods sales,

are within Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Companies

Definition of Rendering

To treat raw material by applying

high heat and extracting moisture, producing a product which can then be processed into fats and proteins.

Basic Yield Equation 100 kgs of raw material = *43 kgs of finished product
