  4. Steve Sheridan -Wentworth Falls Pottery Steve Sheridan is an Australian potter with strong roots in the Studio Pottery Tradition. He has nurtured an admiration for Chinese pots, and particularly those of the Song Dynasty: for him, the quiet beauty of the celadon glazed pots still speak as powerfully today as they did 800 years ago.

  5. In his work, Steve hopes to emulate some of the soft strengths of these classic wares, and express wholeheartedily characteristics of the Australian materials available to him.

  6. Blue Celadon Tea Bowl

  7. Product Description A timelss blue celadon tea bowl, perfect for all your teas that are traditionally enjoyed with milk.

  8. The blue celadon uses a schist from a hillside called Blue Biddy near Gulgong (a town approximately 30km from Mudgee known established during the gold rush). This type of rock is low in iron which gives the glaze its colour and contains a significant amount of sericite mica.

  9. This beautiful tea bowl also has a elegant turtle in the base of the cup. Drinks feel warm to the touch at 80-90 degrees where normal tea cups feel too hot to touch.

  10. Product Dimensions: height 9cm x diameter 9cm.Each cup is hand made by Steve Sheridan in his Wentworth Falls Gallery in the Blue Mountains.

  11. White Porcelain Tea Cup

  12. Product Description The last of its kind white glazed porcelain tea cup, perfect for all styles of tea.

  13. The white porcelain glaze uses a porcelain clay dug from the old railway cutting at Mt. Gibraltar at 863m, near Bowral. The clay was dug by Steve Sheridan's partner Trish's father, Ivn McMeekin, over 50 years ago. This clay which Steve Sheridan uses for the tea cup is about to run out and cannot be replaced! An iron pigment is used on the rims, which is allowed to blend into the glaze giving it a burnt orange colour.

  14. The white glaze has a slight aqua tint and is beautifully semi-translucent when held up to the light. Drinks feel warm to the touch at 80-90 degrees where normal tea cups feel too hot to touch.

  15. Product Dimensions: height 7.5cm x diameter 8cm. Each cup is hand made by Steve Sheridan in his Wentworth Falls Gallery in the Blue Mountains.
