  5. Financial Report • Washington, DC Chapter Financial Status: • Our chapter financial report was submitted in July 2005. As reported, the Current Balance in the Washington DC Chapter account is $21,444.08, as of the 30 June 2005 Bank Statement

  12. Potential Conference Themes • System Safety: A Global Concern  (or perhaps without 'System') • System Safety Across the Globe (or World, or Earth) • Safety Knows No Borders (or Boundaries) • Safety Crosses All Borders (or Boundaries)  • System Safety: The Banner Yet Waves

Washington, DC Chapter Plans for Next Year • Conduct a Baltimore 2007 ISSC Kickoff meeting on 2 August at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Maryland. • Develop theme for 2007 conference • Begin, now, networking for Key Speakers. Presently in dialogue with the Assistant Secretary of the Navy’s (ASN) staff to coordinate the ASNs availability as a Key Speaker. • Solicit additional volunteers • Tour facility • Conduct bi-monthly conference committee meetings • Current volunteers for the 2007 ISSC include: • Conduct elections for President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. • Conduct a minimum of 4 quarterly meetings (subjects and speakers TBD). • Next area meeting will be at the U.S. Marine Corps, General Dynamics Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) Facility in Woodbridge VA.

  14. Washington, DC Chapter Plans for Next Year • Conduct bi-monthly executive meetings. • Numerous members are attending the San Diego Conference. • Ensure the Washington D.C. Chapter 2007 ISSC Key coordinators are represented at the 2006 ISSC to advertise and encourage attendance for the 2007 ISSC. • Investigate developing a Washington, DC Chapter Webpage to provide membership with a convenient and efficient site to communicate issues, concerns, opportunities, and local and national SSS news. • The Chapter Executive Counsel has held discussions on developing and instituting Chapter Awards similar to the System Safety Awards (DC Chapter System Safety Engineer of the Year and DC Chapter System Safety Manager of the Year) • Our preliminary thoughts are to provide the recipients with a percentage (?) of the International System Safety Conference registration fees.
