  1. 11/10/21, 2:55 PM https://www.petrophysics.net/training/iprc/ Back Home> Training Petrophysics Pty Ltd Integrated Petrophysics For Reservoir Characterisatio INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT & TUTOR IN PETROPHYSICAL DATA INTEGRATION Integrated Petrophysics for Reservoir Characterisation All courses available Online as Virtual Instructor Led Training – VILT Detailed Contents Instructor Mark Deakin, PhD (Petrophysics) Public courses 5 days. Tailored In-House 3 to 5 days Description IPRC slide example | Testimonials This course will teach you how to evaluate reservoirs and quickly identify flawed results. Robust reserves and simulation are achieved by the logical, sys- tematic integration of all relevant data. A quality interpretation is extremely cost-effec- tive compared with development mistakes and essential with today’s complex data sets. Proper core-log-test integration replaces the need to run expensive, irrele- vant logs, explains data conflicts and provides the correct answer faster, strengthen- ing your position as an operator and petrophysicist. By contrast, stand-alone log analysis results in wrong decisions and seriously weakens your position in the eyes of your partners. This course, evolved over 25 years of technical petrophysical consulting and training, demonstrates how robust answers are achieved by the logical integration of core, special core, test and other di- verse data. Pay and reserves are addressed first by Quick Look Log Analysis and then by a disciplined, logi- cal process to optimize the interpretation of porosity, saturation, permeability and fluid contacts – the basis of Reserves. Low Contrast Pay, clastics and carbonates are evaluated by straight forward integration techniques which outperform log analysis with direct, plain to see results. The integration of mudlogs, LWD, wireline, facies/rock types, core, SCAL, NMR, dielectric, MDTs and well tests are explained via the author’s 28,000 core plug PetroDB-WEB and IP software. Finally, the critical Petrophysics to Geomodel Essential Checks are clearly set out. https://www.petrophysics.net/training/iprc/ 1/4

  2. 11/10/21, 2:55 PM https://www.petrophysics.net/training/iprc/ This course is a condensed package of very powerful integration techniques. It uses an interleaved se- quence of lectures, micro-practicals, Petro-DB-WEB demos, micro-practicals, movies and workshops to convey a flexible and powerful petrophysical method. It’s highly regarded and continually updated, 344 page “Course Notes” has provided the benchmark mainstream petrophysics textbook for over 25 years. This course was the first public petrophysics integration course (Jan1990) and remains.. The Benchmark Petrophysics Course Today! Do not be fooled by imitations Who Should Attend? Petrophysicists, geologists, operations geologists, geo-modellers, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, core ana- lysts or anyone with a year’s experience with logs or formation evaluation. Bring your laptop with MS Excel. You Will Learn – The essential nature of petrophysics: it’s objectives, data and uncertainties – To get the best possible answers from any given data set – To perform Quick Look Log Analysis and Essential Core-Log Integration with the author’s Excel spreadsheets – To review petrophysical studies effectively & quickly identify flawed results using a clear sequence of logical checks – To identify and extract the key data channels from modern hi-tech logs which, when integrated with core, logs and welltests will answer the questions your team is asking (author speciality, see also IPSCAL) – To identify and properly use what really matters in the increasingly complex barrage of modern petrophysical data – To drill, core, log and test for clear formation evaluation results – To avoid the 10 most common errors which ruin petrophysical results – To use interactive software to reveal how your data can work together and impact results Course Content Detailed Contents – Petrophysical objectives. Physics vs. petrophysics. Concepts of data hierarchy and calibrations – Quick Look Operations log analysis. Logging tool review. Vshale & lithology; complex lithology https://www.petrophysics.net/training/iprc/ 2/4

Instructor CV Dr Mark Deakin is a consultant, author and lecturer in Petrophysical Data Integration. He holds a Ph.D. in ‘Integrated Petrophysics’ from London’s Imperial College, is an ex Amoco petrophysicist, and has more than 30 years’ experience, including 15 as a lecturer and director of PETROPHYSICS Pty Ltd. He has performed over 50 detailed reservoir studies, primarily in Southeast Asia’s difficult carbonate and stacked ‘low-contrast-pay’ reservoirs, keeping abreast of new technologies by technical reading, operations work, attending short courses and lecturing. Mark’s proven approach is to identify and rank reserves uncertainties, then guide companies to- ward defensible reserves via a process of targeted data acquisition, data-hierarchy and systematic integration. After his Ph.D. Mark authored the first public Integrated Petrophysics course which has evolved into the industry benchmark course for mainstream petrophysics. Deakin also developed “Integrated Petrophysics for Carbonate & Fractured Reservoirs – A Roadmap” and the powerful PetroDB-WEB core-log-test linked database evaluation for complex reservoirs. Deakin is a member of SPWLA with offices in Perth, Australia. PS: This course for Benchmark Petrophysics training Training https://www.petrophysics.net/training/iprc/ 3/4
