  1. How does our product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

  2. What genre is Opening Sequence? The initial idea of the piece is a mental patient who has been subject to a traumatic past in which he killed hi own mother is now in a confined cell, and he is having PTSD flash backsSo, the genre we are looking at is a PHYCOLOGICAL/THRILLER

  3. Camera Work • So, for our sequence we had a main camera shot that was our aim in our shoot, the shot we felt would separate ours from the rest. I produced the idea of a 90-degree tracking shot roll. We achieved this shot by using a skateboard as a tracking stabilizer and then achieved the roll by using my Canon m50 on a Ronin SC gimble. • The rest of the shots in our sequence where very simple with wide shots close up and medium shots with a couple of high angles and a 2 birds eye views camera angles.

  4. Mis-En-Scene • Our set had to be made by us from scatch so Emily designed the set and made a very convincing Cell room and stuck to the white wall idea we were looking for. • We also matched his clothing to the room so gave him white clothing and put dark circles under his eyes to excaudate his tiredness and how his thoughts are constantly awake • When then dressed our phycologists in a suite so there would be a clear distinguish in who was in power in the science.

  5. Sound • Our piece was very heavy reliant on sound as when I watched the opening sequence ruff cut though I knew instantly I would have to use a lot of sound, so I purchased a sound pack for $50 that gave me 400+ cinematic sounds, I then went into premier pro an added the sounds there was a total of 34 lines of sound on the timeline, and that is what brought this piece to life. I also had to add effects such as the cell door opening and the fake echo of footsteps and the lights turning on.

  6. Editing • Editing was a vey technical task that I had to take on • I used multiple of different effects thought the piece • A key method was editing to the sound design I made. Most of the clips inside of the cell where very straight forward edits but for the flash back I was adding a lot of effects such as black cuts white flashes overlaying the images changing the audio to make it more distorted and and just making the image seem crazy to match with his mind set. Once I finished the edit, I then added an adjustment layer and placed a premade LUT I created onto the sequence which really brought it to life.
