  1. How Sponsoring A Child Can Make A Difference With population burgeoning and global crises threatening to change the face of the world, the most vulnerable group left to face the challenges are the children, both orphaned and underprivileged. While it is instinctive on a certain level to want to rush in to help these children out, one must understand the nuances that lie in the several avenues they can reach out to. One such avenue is through children’s education charities. Several education charities run programmes that allow an individual or a family to sponsor a child, on various levels. It can range from as much as a day’s meal to their lifetime educational expenses. It is also important to understand that a child, especially in their formative years, cannot flourish on their own. Some of the best child sponsorship charities can be identified by the processes they have in place, and how they go about bettering not just a child’s life, but the larger community that surrounds the child. Many of the best education charities identify this need – of involving not just a few special children in their realm of work, but shifting the focus to the child’s environment and bettering that from inside out. By sponsoring a child, one is not just improving the child’s life but also breaking generations of poverty and inaccessibility to resources. It brings them a step closer to levelling the field as their contemporaries who might have access to better resources, thereby gaining more opportunities. Particularly in India, nearly one third of the population lives in extreme poverty, which puts the next generation stemming from these families at an immediate disadvantage. Statistically, nearly 2 million children die due to malnutrition before they turn 5, while over 18 million young adults are out of school. Of these, nearly 12 million are child labourers, owing to their circumstances. Despite their desire to gain education and secure successful employment in their growing years, several children from underprivileged backgrounds are forced to drop of out of their schools, owing to impoverishment. They are then forced to turn to other avenues to make money and help support their familial needs. With these challenges staring them in the face, it is a struggle for many of them to even graduate. This is why sponsoring a child can help them in the longer run, rather than making a one-off donation. Through sponsorship, a child can flourish in all aspects of their life, right from basic nutrition to getting the education they need and deserve. It not just helps them secure their present, but also their future, leading them to thrive in situations they might not have otherwise had the opportunity to. https://vibha.org/

  2. Thus, by willing to sponsor a child, one is not just bringing a change in their lifestyle but also in that of the child. Upon tying up with an organisation, one can keep track of their sponsored child’s progress through regular updates and handwritten letter thereby building a personal connection. And what better way to leave a mark in the world, than to touch lives and build connections in whatever way possible? https://vibha.org/
